Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier)

Chapter 55

Lily's name was written In the sender's column.

In an instant, Xavier guessed what was inside. His gaze darkened.

"Xavier, this is" Sarah began, her voice tinged with concern. She was still sitting in front of him with her elbow propped against the chair's armrest.

"Leave," Xavier interrupted. He sounded colder than ever before.

Sarah froze, feeling quite humiliated, especially in front of Timothy. But she quickly regained her composure and got up.

"Alright. I'll leave you to your business."

Tension hung thick in the air after Sarah left Xavier's office.

Already guessing what was in the parcel, Timothy felt uneasy. But he couldn't believe it.

Was Lily really going to divorce Xavier?

Xavier opened the package and took out the documents. As the words "Divorce Agreement" came into his view, he tossed the papers onto the desk. He got up and went to the balcony for a smoke. Frustration and all sorts of negative emotions surged within him. It was all because of Lily!

"Mr. Fulton," Timothy began tentatively. He could tell Xavier was in a bad mood, but he still had to report his schedule to him. "You have a lunch meeting with Mr. Sheffield, the CEO of Hetan Enterprises, today. You're supposed to introduce Mr. Joyner to him." Xavier's schedule was usually arranged at least a week in advance. At that time, things hadn't yet escalated between him and Lily. But now...noveldrama

Xavier remained silent.

Timothy had no choice but to ask, "Shall we cancel the meeting?"

"Cancel it," Xavier spat. Compared to Lily, he despised Bobby even more.

He contemplated for a while and added, "From now on, I don't want to deal with anything related to the Joyner family."

"Duly noted," Timothy replied, having long been reluctant to deal with Bobby.

He placed another document on Xavier's desk and said, "This is Mrs. Fulton's schedule over the past few days."

The schedule report included the night before last, where Terence hugged Lily at the entrance of her apartment building. It also detailed Lily's new job at Lupier.

A shiver had raced down Timothy's spine when he read it. He had clearly instructed that no company should hire Lily, but after investigating further, he realized that Terence was a partner at Lupier. It all made sense now.

Maryanne was close to Lily, so Terence doing his sister a favor was perfectly normal. But it'd still infuriate Xavier.

Timothy couldn't predict Xavier's reaction, so he compiled all the information and let Xavier see it for himself instead. He kept quiet the entire time. He was afraid that he might be reprimanded for saying something wrong during his report. From the balcony, Xavier glanced at the documents and then withdrew his gaze.

"Throw it away."

He figured Lily wouldn't dare to do anything outrageous. He was certain that she was momentarily blinded by Bobby's nonsense and thought that she could use their divorce as leverage against him.

To Xavier, Lily had always been docile and ingratiating over the past two years. There was no need for him to monitor her.

He had to learn to be patient and wait for Lily to cave in and come back on her own. He would never offer her an easy way out again like he did last time.

Timothy hesitated, then let it go after a second thought. It was better to avoid unnecessary trouble.

After all, Lily probably wouldn't last long at Lupier. What could she possibly accomplish after working there for only a few days?

As for the photo of Terence hugging Lily, he thought it was most likely just a misunderstanding.

"Understood."
