The Billionaire's Forbidden Longing

Chapter 289 Landon's Battle of Wits with the Lewis Family

Cleo was floored. "Oh my God, what's going on? Robots? Seriously, Allison?"

Allison shot her a look. "Do I look like I'm joking? This isn't a prank. I messed up her gun's sight, but she still hit me. That's impossible unless she doesn't need her eyes to shoot and can hit my shoulder that precisely!"

Patricia's goal was to take Allison away, so she hit her shoulder, making it easier to capture her.

Allison added, "And she runs like the wind. Even while carrying me, she climbed a 2,000-foot hill in five minutes without a path. We need to keep a close eye on her!"

Cleo nodded. Alexander couldn't wait for the ambulance, so he had Declan speed to Serenity Health Center. Henry was already waiting at the hospital entrance.

"What happened this time? Alexander, how are you taking care of Allison?" Henry was clearly frustrated but quickly wheeled Allison into surgery. The bullet removal wasn't difficult since Allison's injury wasn't severe, and it was over in about an hour.

Patricia, however, was critically injured, with three vital areas hit. After finishing Allison's surgery, Henry operated on Patricia, barely managing to save her.

When Henry came out, Cleo asked, "Did you notice anything unusual about her bones?"

Henry thought for a moment. "She was shot in three vital areas and is in critical condition. One strange thing is that a bullet hit her rib, but it didn't break or even crack. Is that unusual enough?"

Cleo froze, then suddenly ran out to make a call.

Carl, who received the call, was equally shocked. "That's impossible. Such experiments are banned on humans. How could this happen?"

Realizing something, Carl continued, "Eldoria is the only country that hasn't banned human experiments. They must have planned this! Stay with Allison. I'll find Elijah. He might have answers."

Carl took off in a helicopter. Allison was moved to a room, still under anesthesia. Alexander stayed by her side, not taking his eyes off her, afraid she might disappear if he looked away.

James said, "Mr. Carter, everything at the company is handled. Don't worry, it won't affect operations."

Alexander nodded, grateful for James's help. "If you need help, ask Declan. I'll be here with Allison for a while."

James handed Allison's phone to Alexander. "Mr. Wells found Ms. Bennett's phone. Here you go."

Before Allison woke up, the Lewis family arrived. Seeing Allison shot, they glared at Alexander.

"Ryan, we need to get Allison out of Novaria. It's too dangerous for her here," Nathan insisted, clearly worried.

Alexander shook his head. "Don't stir up trouble. Keep an eye on Sabrina. No school for now, just stay home. And I'm not keeping Sabrina here either. It's too risky."

Ryan nodded in agreement with Nathan. When they told Sabrina, she was furious. "I'm not leaving! I want to be with Allison. I'm not going anywhere!"

Nathan, frustrated, gave Sabrina a light smack on the back of her head. "Are you crazy? Allison has a fiancé. What about you? Ryan and I can't stay here forever. Who's gonna protect you?"

Sabrina replied, "Landon will. He'll protect me!"

Nathan was about to hit her again, but Ryan intervened. "Hey, don't scare her. Let's talk this out."

Nathan said, "Talk? Sabrina's obsessed with some old guy. That dude's a con artist. If he tries anything, I'll take him out!"

Sabrina pouted defiantly. "Landon could beat you with one finger!"

Nathan responded, "Sabrina, I could end you right now, believe it or not!"noveldrama

Sabrina wasn't scared, just annoyed. "I don't believe you. Try it with Ryan here."

Nathan, fuming, was interrupted by Landon, who walked straight to Sabrina. "Are you okay? I heard a helicopter crashed at the airport. Did it scare you?"

Sabrina's eyes widened. "So that loud noise wasn't fireworks but a helicopter crash?" She looked at Ryan, who stayed silent, confirming it. "Luckily, we didn't get on. You wouldn't see me today otherwise!"

Landon said, "Don't say that, Sabrina. It's not safe lately. I'm taking you to stay with the SWAT team. It's safer there. It's almost winter break, so pack up, and I'll take you when it starts."

Sabrina nodded, but Ryan refused. "She's coming home for break. No need for your concern, Mr. Wells."

Landon couldn't let Sabrina go abroad. If something happened, he couldn't go after her. This was what he feared most.

Landon said, "Mr. Lewis, Sabrina's doing well in Skycrest. I heard she's mostly locked in her room at home. She's almost an adult and needs to see the world."

"See what? If she hadn't run off chasing Felix, she wouldn't have left the castle. She chased him for so long, and he doesn't even like her. When I get back, I'll deal with Felix!" Ryan said.

The Lewis family had an arranged marriage with the Jones family, unrelated to Sabrina and Felix's feelings. It was a family alliance, marriage regardless of love.

Seeing Ryan so angry, Sabrina's eyes welled up, clearly scared. Landon quickly hugged her. "Don't worry. We're not going anywhere. I'm here, and no one can force you to do anything you don't want. Plus, Ms. Bennett and I planned a vacation to the islands. It'll be fine!"
