The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2397

Frank raised a brow. "So you're saying that he's actually the mastermind behind everything?"

Jouri nodded. "At the very least, he's several steps ahead of everyone else... He was also the one who led you to Shagan."

"What?!" Frank exclaimed, utterly confused.

Jouri shrugged. "With Sally York stealing the power of the spiritron vein, we had to find a way to find it a new owner. You're strong and could even reach the top of the world without the spiritron vein, but you have to understand that political influence is able to close that gap."

"That's true! So what is this about?"

Frank smiled, whipping out the photo of the girl. "You have plenty more resources than I have. Why not go find her yourselves?"

"Five works in mysterious ways," Jouri replied, shaking her head. "We have no idea why he'd asked you either, but he had express orders for us not to help."

"Whatever," Frank replied, unbothered.noveldrama

Help aside, he definitely could find the girl if he wanted to.

Soon, they were both back at Frankton Tower, with Frank summoning Jada and Moxxi and showing them the photo. "Please find this person, but don't make contact should you locate her. Just report it to me I'll be there personally."

"Is that necessary, Mr. Frankton?" Jada quickly asked. "We're just talking about a person, and we know what to do. I'm sure we just have to be reasonable, and she'd definitely agree to see you..."

Frank chuckled. "What, are you getting so full of yourself that you're going against my orders?"

Jada quickly shook her head. "Absolutely not, sir. Please don't misunderstand." Beside her, Moxxi-who was all too eager to replace Jada-promptly added fuel to the fire. "No, she totally meant it. Hell, maybe she planned this from the start!" "Don't try to rile things up!"

"Who is? I'm just spitting facts!"

"You're asking for it!"

"If you say so! What, did you think I'm scared?!"

Seeing that the two ladies were ready for a fight, Frank snapped, "What are you doing? This is important! Get going already!"

Both women had no choice but to turn to leave right then, though not without staring daggers at each other.

Neither woman came to Frank's office the next day, however, though Sylvie Wal did.

"Good morning, Mr. Frankton. Have you missed me?"

It had been a while since Sylvie showed up, but she planted herself on the couch like it was her home.

She then shin mied over to Frank, taking his newspaper and asking, "What year is it? You're still reading newspapers? It's the age of IT, you know you'd find out everything happening even without leaving the house."

Frank smiled in wry amusement. "Did you come just to mock me? In that case,

well done-you can go now."

"Don't kick me out!" Sylvie exclaimed, flustered. "I have a favor to ask!"

"Shoot."

"Shanton's been constructing a subway route and ended up digging into a tomb. We were sent in, but guess what? It's a hypogeum! So the higher ups are calling for preservation as a heritage site, so it can be used as a tourist spot.

"But you know very well even if the ancients were smart, even a hypogeum wouldn't really stand for that long. Everyone's concerned about a collapse, so they didn't dare to dive in..."

Frank snorted. "So you're asking me? How imaginative of you. What if I never come back up?"

Sylvie giggled. "That would never happen, since you're just that amazing. Moreover, I'm coming with you, so we could both die together if the worst happens."
