The Reclaimed Rose (Annalise and Steven)

Chapter 523

After comparing my situation with the past, I couldn't help but smile.

It was no surprise that people were different from one another.

When I cared for Willow for Zane, I didn't have to spend extra money on her. Every month, Zane would pay me a hefty salary, too. A month's salary from Zane was more than the two years' worth of allowance that Steven gave me.

Even then, Zane was worried that I wouldn't have sufficient income, and he introduced me to other part-time jobs.

Given the circumstances, I would still choose to live with Zane even if he and I were just in a regular working relationship and weren't dating.

When I didn't know what was good and bad, I would have compromised and forced myself to endure it. It was because I was afraid I might be unable to find a better alternative after leaving. But after knowing what it was like to live a good life, I never wanted to go back to my horrible past again.

Zane left reluctantly after receiving a series of calls from work. Meanwhile, I returned to my room and continued with my autographs. I became more adept at signing autographs after signing so many of them. I was quick, and the autograph looked good. When I looked at my own autograph, I couldn't help but be amazed at how the autographs were so nicely signed.

After tirelessly signing autographs, my hand became tired. But I chose to endure it because I wanted to finish signing all the autographs sooner.

When the employee from the publishing company noticed that I was slowing down, he asked, "Would you like to rest?"

"It's okay, I can do it!" I said with a smile.

I quickly exercised my wrists, and then returned to signing autographs when my hands felt better.

Another employee exclaimed, "You're so pretty and have a rich boyfriend, but you're still working so hard! I really admire you."

The employee had tasted the food Zane brought with him for lunch. It was much more delicious than what she had eaten at restaurants elsewhere!

I chuckled and asked, "But only the money you earn is yours, isn't that right?"noveldrama

The two paused. Then, they said, "You're right."

...

Soon after Zane returned to the office, Casper came to visit.

Yvonne hid in a corner and watched Casper enter Zane's office. After a long time, Casper still hadn't left." Then, Yvonne sneaked to her office and called Jessica.

Surprised by the call, Jessica asked, "What brings you to call me?"

"I have something very serious to tell you," Yvonne said solemnly.

Confused, Jessica asked, "What?"

With a serious tone, Yvonne said, "You're ex-husband, Casper is here in Zane's office. Did he tell you

anything about it? Is het

his business?"

However, Jessica rarely contacted Casper, so she didn't know what was happening.

Yvonne exclaimed, "I used to think you were wasting your time with him, but I finally see how smart you are! It's no surprise that rich kids like them can rebuild their businesses like a piece of cake."

As Jessica listened, her expression gradually darkened. She replied, "I have bad news."

Yvonne asked, "What?"

After taking a deep breath, Jessica said, "A few days ago, I cut ties with Casper."

"That's not a big deal! Everybody knows Casper will run to you like a little puppy," Yvonne said nonchalantly.

Yvonne continued, "If you're willing to sweet-talk him, he will come running to you without hesitation, loving and doting on you."

Hearing that, Jessica rubbed her brows and said, "I hope so."

At that time, Jessica thought Casper was utterly useless, so she was harsh with him.
