Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 883

Chapter 883:

When Allison saw that Lilian was completely subdued, reduced to staggering like a puppet on strings, she wasted no time. She grabbed Lilian roughly and dragged her toward a concealed door tucked into the corner. Reaching the wall, she found the small protrusion Verruckt had used earlier. With a deliberate push, the hidden mechanism clicked.

The wall slid aside, unveiling an elevator behind it.

Allison tapped her hidden earpiece, ready to proceed. “Kellan, I’ve got Lilian. Are you set?” Allison asked, keeping her tone steady.

“Ready,” Kellan answered, his breath coming in short gasps, indicating that he was already on the move.

As the elevator descended, Lilian’s struggles began to fade. She grew quieter with each passing second. Allison silently prayed that she wouldn’t lose control again.

All she needed was for Lilian to stay subdued until they got clear.noveldrama

The elevator came to a stop on the first floor. Allison quickly slipped on a lab coat, then propped Lilian up and guided her out.

The hallway was dim, bathed in faint light. Guards dressed in black uniforms paced back and forth, their eyes scanning the corridor lined with one-way mirrors.

“Stay alert,” one of the guards muttered. “Mr. Shaw doesn’t want anything slipping past us today.”

The hallway led dangerously close to the specimen room, an area tightly secured to block any unauthorized entry. Allison struggled to keep Lilian steady, but as they neared the keypad door, Lilian caught her reflection on the glossy surface. Her eyes widened in terror, and she began to thrash wildly.

“No! I was wrong! Don’t do that to me!” Lilian screamed, her voice cutting through the air like a knife.

The thin one-way mirror did little to muffle the shrill cries. The noise immediately reached the patrolling guards.

“Something’s up — stay sharp!” one of the guards barked, his tone tense and commanding.

Allison’s jaw tightened. She grabbed a cloth and pressed it firmly over Lilian’s mouth, but it barely helped. The damage was done.

The guards would be on them in no time.

Allison activated her earpiece, her voice calm but urgent. “Kellan, the patrol’s on to us. I need a distraction. Now.”

“Got it. Leave it to me,” Kellan replied without hesitation.

This section of the building was seldom used, giving Allison a brief window to act.

But every second she hesitated added to the risk. Noticing Lilian gearing up to resist again, Allison swiftly administered another dose of the serum.

She leaned close and warned, her tone sharp, “Don’t even think about it, or I’ll strap you to the experiment table.”

Though dazed, Lilian flinched at the threat. Fear flickered in her eyes, overriding her instincts to fight.
